About RedundancyPay
A free, independent redundancy pay calculator for Australian workers — built to give you a clear answer in 60 seconds.
Why this site exists
Being made redundant is stressful. The last thing you need is a clunky government calculator, a wall of legal text, or a calculator hidden behind a sign-up form.
RedundancyPay was built to solve that. You enter your salary, years of service, and a few simple details. You get an immediate, accurate estimate of what you're entitled to under the Fair Work Act 2009 — including the redundancy payout, notice period, leave payout, and what you'll keep after tax.
No sign-up. No paywall. No data collected. Just the number you came for.
What we cover
Our calculator follows the National Employment Standards under the Fair Work Act 2009, including:
The official redundancy pay scale (4 to 16 weeks based on years of service), notice period entitlements, the 2024–25 ATO tax-free threshold for genuine redundancy ($12,524), and the 32% concessional tax rate that applies above this threshold.
We also cover the small business exemption (employers with fewer than 15 employees), unused annual leave payouts, and the difference between genuine redundancy and dismissal.
What we are — and what we're not
✓ Independent
Not affiliated with any law firm, insurance company, or financial advisor. Just a free tool.
✓ Accurate
Based on current Fair Work Act provisions and ATO tax tables. Updated as legislation changes.
✗ Not legal advice
Our tool gives you an informed estimate, not formal legal or financial advice for your specific situation.
✗ Not a replacement for professional help
For complex situations, contact the Fair Work Ombudsman or an employment lawyer.
Where to get further help
If you've been made redundant and want to confirm your rights or dispute a decision:
